After a busy summer of traveling to the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana, and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine, I’m excited to announce that Clayton and I are participating in the first trade show as Oliver Collie Ceramics.
MetroCon, at the Dallas Market Hall, is a two-day expo and conference catering to industry members who deal with the built environment. We are hoping to engage with interior designers, showroom owners, and decor retailers. We will be at booth 228 on August 10th and 11th so please make plans to stop by (register to attend).
For the last five months, Clayton and I have been preparing for this show in numerous ways that will sound familiar to my fellow studio artists. Making/glazing/firing work, creating price lists, building a website, configuring social media accounts, accounting, marketing, etc. It’s never ending! But at the end of the day, it really is nice to get back into a rhythm in the studio after leaving the Bray and Helena to re-settle in Dallas. Moving home can be tough at first with finding a place to live and friends to socialize with, but the studio has provided me a nice refuge. Also, Clayton has been a tremendous friend and business partner with helping me re-build my life in Dallas and with growing the business. We collaborate well together and I can not be more thankful for him being in my corner.
