Brooks Oliver will once again be a featured artist at the Dallas Pottery Invitational which is on its 9th year of highlighting high-quality, functional ceramic artists from around the United States. Brooks’ connection to DPI has been since day one, working at the checkout booth until graduating to the exhibition floor as a featured artist. For the past few years, his work has grown and matured enough to garner the same attention as more established artists in the show.
“We are proud to host six new artists this year: Jennifer Allen, Jason Burnett, Chandra DeBuse, Naomi Dalglish, Sam Harvey, and Michael Hunt. Also featured are our current core group of artists: Amy Halko, Daphne Roehr Hatcher, Gary Hatcher, Liz Lurie, Brooks Oliver, Lisa Orr and Louise Rosenfield.”
This is a great chance to support local, handmade art and to interact with the artists themselves. DPI prides itself on bringing a diverse group of artists to the show each year.
“The work of this diverse group of makers will provide you with a unique overview of the field of functional ceramicists today. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned collector, you will appreciate this exceptional opportunity to talk to the artists while viewing their wares.”
The event will take place at the Empire Room located at 1225 N. Riverfront boulevard. The Empire Room is a premier Dallas venue in the hip, blossoming community known as the Design District. There will be plenty of free parking at the South end of the building. When traveling on Riverfront Blvd., turn West onto Howell Street then take an immediate right through the vacant lot. The parking will be on your right. Please follow the signs for the entrance to the event.
